EFESC (“we” or “us”) makes use of cookies.

  1. What are cookies and why do we use them?

A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone during your visit to our website/mobile applications. Information is stored in this text file. This information can be recognised by the website/mobile applications at a later visit.

In particular, EFESC generates (web) statistics via the cookies in order to improve its services/website. EFESC uses the data we collect via the cookies, also, where necessary, in the context of legal (reporting) obligations.

We make use of analytic cookies.  These cookies collect information about the behaviour of the visitor on the website/mobile application in order to draw up (web) statistics, in order to improve our services/website.

 3. Management of the cookies

To switch on cookies, the following actions must be performed:

 Google Chrome

  • Click on the three dots next to the browser bar at the top of your browser window and choose ‘Options’.
  • Search for the ‘Privacy and security’ section and click on ‘content settings’
  • Click on the option ‘cookies’.
  • Now select ‘Allow sites to save and read cookie data’.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • Click on ‘Internet options’ in the ‘Extra’ menu
  • On the ‘Privacy’ tab, move the settings slide to ‘low’ or ‘accept all cookies’ (setting above ‘medium’ will disable cookies).
  • Click on ‘OK’.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Click on ‘Firefox’ in the upper left corner of your browser and then click on ‘Options’.
  • On the ‘Privacy’ tab, make sure that the ‘Inform websites that I do not want to be tracked’ is not checked.
  • Click on ‘OK’.

Safari

  • Choose ‘Preferences’ from the task menu. (The task menu is located on the top right of the Safari window and looks like a sprocket, or click on ‘Safari’ in the extended task menu).
  • Click on the Privacy tab. Select the section called ‘Cookies and other website data’
  • Indicate that you accept cookies

If you prefer not to do this, you are, as a visitor, free to disable cookies via your browser settings, on the understanding that EFESC will not be able to guarantee a trouble-free visit to its website. Disabling can be done in the following ways:

Google Chrome

  • Select ‘More Settings’ from the browser toolbar.
  • Select the ‘Advanced’ option at the bottom of the page.
  • Under ‘Privacy and security’, select the ‘Settings for content’ option.
  • Select ‘Cookies’.
  • Disable ‘Allow sites to store and read cookies’.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • In Internet Explorer, select the Tools button and select Internet Options.
  • Select the Privacy tab and in Settings and move the slider upwards to block all cookies. Click on OK.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Click on the menu button and choose ‘Preferences’.
  • Select the ‘Privacy & Security’ panel and go to the ‘History’ section.
  • Next to ‘Firefox will’, set to ‘Use custom settings for history’.
  • Set ‘Accept cookies from third parties’ to ‘Never’
  • Close the page ‘about: preferences’. Changes you have made are automatically saved.

Safari

  • Choose ‘Preferences’ from the task menu. (The task menu is located on the top right of the Safari window and looks like a sprocket, or click on ‘Safari’ in the extended task menu).
  • Click on the Privacy tab. Select the section called ‘Cookies and other website data’
  • Indicate that you do not accept cookies.

4. What are your rights as a visitor?

 As a visitor to our website/mobile application, your personal data may be processed by the use of certain cookies.

In this case, you have specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (incl. perusal, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of your consent and data transferability), which we have further described in Art. 8 of our Privacy Statement, which you can consult via the following link.
